What is an impact team?

An IMPACT team or Green team which it can be known as are voluntary groups of people that come together to teach others about sustainable development, and show them ways to help the environment at work through programs, initiatives and educational experiences.

In an organisation an internal IMPACT team is often the driving force behind your sustainability transformation, they are the ones who are activating and reporting on your outcomes.

IMPACT teams will often focus on two areas. One, is on the company’s own operations, examining the sustainability opportunities within the organization and the other is on educating employees on sustainability and engaging them in actions that they can do at home.

Getting the right people in your IMPACT team is the first hurdle, however the good news is that more often than not once you launch the idea of creating one you will find that those who have a vested interest in the topic will jump at the chance to be involved, you may even find you have too many volunteers.
